Participated in the Science Olympiad "Detector Building" event, developing a custom temperature probe and microcontroller system to measure water samples. The device was constructed using an Arduino microcontroller, MCP3208 analog-to-digital converter, LM35DZ temperature sensor, and a set of indicator LEDs programmed to display temperature zones as required by competition rules. Data was displayed on a laptop via Serial and compared against a reference thermometer.
Although the regional competition was cancelled due to COVID-19, extensive testing and calibration produced a reliable model converting voltage to temperature, demonstrating accurate readings across the full 0-75 °C range.
